We’re closing “Most Deserving City” Challenge.

Hello readers/voters,

>> Important: We’ve moved to Fiberazzi.com

This is to make a critical announcement that we’re concluding “Most Deserving City” Challenge(Round II), three days before the scheduled Closing date, that is, June 7.

We have made the decision of closing the ‘Voting Challenge’ before the scheduled end date (June 7), as we were contacted by representatives associated with Google regarding the confusion that Most Deserving City challenge has caused to the readers/voters of this website.

Despite making it pretty clear on the website’s About page as well as on the Voting Challenge page itself that GoogleFiber.com is an Unofficial Informational blog and is NOT sponsored, backed or affiliated, in any way, with Google and we also made it clear upfront that the Most Deserving City Polling Challenge is simply an activity, created to encourage public enthusiasm towards Google Fiber project and the Polling Challenge or its results will bear no affect on Google’s decision relating to Google Fiber project, a considerable number of voters voted in the Poll with a false impression that GoogleFiber.com is affiliated with Google and the Voting Challenge results will actually decide the city that will embrace first ever Google Fiber network.

It is quite evident that many of the site visitors/voters considered GoogleFiber.com as a Google sponsored website, mainly because of the pretty close resemblance of our domain name GoogleFiber.com with Google Fiber for Communities project of Google. Hence, we’ve now moved to Fiberazzi.com

To avoid any further confusion regarding the Voting Challenge, its results or its non-affiliation with Google Fiber project, we’ve been asked by concerned authorities to discontinue the Voting Challenge. We respect Google’s concern regarding the misinterpretation that Voting Challenge has unfortunately caused and therefore, closing down the Voting Challenge before the stipulated date.

We apologize for any confusions our Voting Challenge caused to the voters/site visitors. As we’re no longer hosting Voting Challenge, we would not discuss any further about the voting statistics or results of the Voting Challenge. However, the ‘Closed’ Voting Challenge results can still be seen on Poll hosting service, Polldaddy’s website. We will also delete the Voting Results from Polldaddy’s website within 3 days from now.

As our primary aim has always been about reporting news, updates and information about Fiber Network Industry, we will continue to do so, but on a different web address from now on.

We’re moving our Fiber technology blog to a newer domain name, Fiberazzi.com. Simply put, you can keep yourself aware about latest news, updates and information about dynamic Fiber Network Industry around the globe, by making a regular visit to Fiberazzi.com. Please note that Fiberazzi.com will remain focussed on Fiber Network Industry in general. We will NOT be reporting any update or progress of Google Fiber project from now on.

Read more on what to expect from our new website Fiberazzi.com and why Fiberazzi deserves a daily visit of yours.
