Google shouts out 1100 THANK YOUs to all Fiber Community Enthusiasts

Google has recently started a new website called Fiber for Communities and the purpose is simple. With their new website, they want to show their gratitude towards every participating city and every individual who showed his/her interest in Google Fiber for Communities initiative.

For this very reason, they have also created a cheerful custom video, thanking every one of those 1100 communities that submitted their EOIs to Google back in march. Here’s the video !

Another major purpose of Google through this new website is to spread more awareness among the public regarding the ways through which people can take initiatives by themselves for improvement of broadband connections within their respective communities.

Google explains that ultra speed broadband connectivity is not an impossible aspiration and can be achieved if the overall process is executed in an efficient manner. They highlight that digging roads accounts for majority of expenditure and time while laying down fiber cables and communities can certainly push things forward to get their local authorities get into action and do the needful.

Google has not commented over its decision of the ‘chosen city’  for laying down 1Gbps fast ‘Google Fiber’ and that indicates that selection procedure is still under progress.
